Welcome to IH-SET

This document provides a comprehensive overview of IH-SET (IH-Shoreline Evolution Tools), including its primary modules and functionalities. IH-SET is a versatile open-source tool designed for simulating coastal processes, including the static equilibrium of shorelines and morphodynamic changes over time. Designed to be flexible, IH-SET enables researchers and engineers to model shoreline evolution from anywhere in the world, across a variety of spatial and temporal scales to suit wide range of research objectives. The flexibility of the IH-SET tool, makes it a valuable resource for analyzing and predicting shoreline behavior under a wide variety of natural and anthropogenic-influenced scenarios. Figure 1 illustrates the main user interface of IH-SET, showcasing the primary dashboard and the simulation tools available within the platform.

A key strength of IH-SET is its broad applicability, allowing for the simulation of both significant short-term events and long-term trends in coastal evolution. This versatility makes it particularly effective for analyzing equilibrium shoreline profiles and projecting future shoreline changes over extended periods. As a result, IH-SET serves as a essential tool for informed decision-making in coastal protection planning and sustainable coastal management.
